Corbin Van Arsdale was elected to the Cedar Park City Council in May 2014 and re-elected in May 2016. Prior to serving on City Council, Corbin served on the City’s 4B Community Development Board and the Parks & Recreation Board. From July 2015 to May 2016 Corbin served as Mayor Pro Tem.  He serves as one of Cedar Park’s three representatives on the Capital Area Council of Governments (CAPCOG), where he also serves on the Executive Committee.

Corbin is a former member of the Texas House of Representatives, where he served from 2003 to 2009 on the following committees: Calendars, Appropriations, State Affairs, Insurance, Judiciary, and Urban Affairs.

While in the Legislature, Corbin helped pass landmark legislation on tort reform, fiscal discipline, government transparency, and economic development—which helped Texas vastly outperform the other 49 states in creating jobs and attracting capital and investment, a trend which continues to this day.

Corbin is Vice President and General Counsel of AGC-Texas Building Branch, a statewide trade association of commercial builders. Before that, Corbin was General Counsel of Boyer, Inc., a civil, electrical, marine, and mechanical construction firm in Houston – and an attorney practicing constitutional and maritime law at the Houston law firm of Fitzhugh & Elliott.

Corbin is a fifth-generation Texan who attended the University of Texas at Austin, where he earned degrees in finance (BBA) and law (JD) and lettered in baseball.

Corbin’s wife Stephanie works at Jakovich & Perry Capital Partners LLC, a commercial real estate investment firm. Stephanie formerly worked at Twin Lakes YMCA, Leander ISD, and Community Impact newspaper. Stephanie also worked on Congressman Michael McCaul’s first campaign staff and first congressional staff and was Congressman Kevin Brady’s campaign manager. Corbin and Stephanie have five children: Madeleine (20), Brooks (19), Dylan (18), Dawn (18), and Savannah (16).
